Zinta Miezaine

Ms. Zinta Miezaine has over 20 years of experience working in various aspects of civil society development including extensive professional practice in an international context.

Zinta has significant experience working in sensitive political settings and involving partners with conflicting interests. Her work experience entails acting in different multicultural teams ensuring smooth implementation of challenging projects, such as capacity building for CSOs and Local Governments in Moldova and the Transnistria Region and Capacity development of NGOs in policy advocacy towards Parliament and Central Government in Moldova. Zinta has been leading the introduction of public participation mechanisms in Latvia, Moldova and Armenia. She led the drafting and passing of the laws on Associations and Foundations and Public Benefit in Latvia. Zinta has also developed and implemented training programs for CSOs, the Prosecutor’s Office, Supreme Court Judges and the Parliament committee on EU Law in Latvia working at the Riga Graduate School of Law. These projects required strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage complex constellations of stakeholders, such as different CSOs, Local and Central Governments, Judiciary, Legislators, international donor organisations, EU Delegations, Embassies, and others.

Zinta’s strength lies also in her strategic and analytical approach. She is the author of Independent Reporting Mechanism reports on Latvia (2012 – 2020), analysing the interrelations of government and civil society as well as other policy analysis reports on civil society related issues.

Ms. Miezaine holds a MA in International Relations from Budapest Institute for Graduate International and Diplomatic Studies (BIGIS). She is fluent in Latvian, English and Russian language.
