Our values

Human rights

Human rights are protected by the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights. These include freedom from discrimination, protection of personal data, and access to justice. Every citizen is entitled to these rights equally.

Rule of law

The EU is based on the rule of law. Everything it does is founded on treaties voluntarily and democratically agreed by its member states. Law and justice are upheld by an independent judiciary, with the European Court of Justice as the final authority — its judgments are binding on all member states.

Equality

Equality ensures that all citizens are treated the same before the law. It includes gender equality and equal opportunities in every area of life. This principle has guided European integration since the Treaty of Rome.

Democracy

The EU is built on representative democracy. Citizens have the right to vote and stand in elections for the European Parliament, whether in their country of origin or residence. Political participation is a cornerstone of European citizenship.

Freedom

Freedom means the right to move, live, and work across the Union. It also safeguards personal liberties such as privacy, belief, assembly, and expression. These freedoms are guaranteed by the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights.

Human dignity

Human dignity is the foundation of European society. It is inviolable and must always be respected and protected. All fundamental rights stem from this principle.

35 representatives of civil society organisations took part in the information session on the EU Call in Kočani

Thirty‑five representatives of civil society organisations from Kočani and the neighbouring municipalities of Češinovo‑Obleševo, Zrnovci and Vinica attended the information session on the EU Call ‘Supporting Young People for Economic Empowerment and Entrepreneurship in the Kočani Region’, held yesterday at the Amor Hotel in Kočani.

The session presented the application conditions, eligibility criteria, eligible activities and costs, as well as guidance on preparing and submitting applications. The Call supports initiatives in two areas: the development of digital skills and AI literacy, and youth and social entrepreneurship.

Selected organisations will receive direct support worth between EUR 10,000 and 15,000 per project, for activities lasting 10 months. The aim is to foster the economic empowerment of young people and open new opportunities for their personal and professional development in the Kočani region.

For organisations unable to attend the session in Kočani, two further online information sessions are scheduled for 27 October and 6 November 2026, starting at 11:00.

All interested organisations can follow the official Facebook and Instagram pages of the EU4CR project, as well as the website www.eu4cr.mk, where all information on the Call and the application process is available.

The application deadline is 16 November 2026, by 17:00.

The Call is implemented under the project “EU Civil Resilience Mechanism – Phase II: Support for civil society and grassroots organisations”, funded by the European Union within the IPA III Programme for Civil Society and Media Support 2024–2025 for the Republic of North Macedonia.
